Identities are the backbone of every democratic system.

In order to enable a democratic system on the global level, we need identities that are not managed by nation states or corporations.

To this end the Free Identity Foundation was formed: it will develop and implement open standards for identity management. TCP/IP was for computers; we now need TCP/ID for people.
